HOSPITALISATION FOR SEVERE NECK / BACK PAIN

INDICATIONS

- Failed out-patient therapy.
- 72 hours limitation.
- Appropriate analgesics& anti-inflammatory therapy1 . - Appropriate physiotherapy.
- Repeated clinical evaluation and radiology 2 .
- Appropriate spinal infiltrations/injections may be performed.

MODIFIERS

1. Does not necessitate intravenous medication.
2. Admission for purpose of performing CT Scan or MRI scan only, not indication.
3. Cervical traction is a therapeutic option. Insufficient evidence to support lumbar traction as therapeutic option.
