Limited to Medical Specialists who demonstrate continuing interest in the problems of the spine and the pursuits and affairs of the Society.

Full Members are expected to devote at least 30% of their professional activites to spinal problems and to maintain high ethical standards.The Medical Specialist must be registered as a Specialist with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa, and be a member of the South African Medical Association (SAMA) and / or be a member of a recognized speciality organisation.

A Full Member shall pay annual dues as determined at the Annual General Meeting of the Society (AGM) and may vote and hold office.

It is a condition of continued membership that full members have to attend at least one annual scientific meeting every 2 years and such a member must respond to questionnaires or research queries originating from the office of the South African Spine Society (SASS).

Candidates for full membership must be proposed and seconded in writing by two full members and membership approved at the AGM by the Exco.
