GUIDELINES: PERCUTANEOUS VERTEBROPLASTY AND KYPHOPLASTY
Indications:
- Recent vertebral compression fractures due to osteoporosis, myeloma, metastasis and vertebral angioma with intractable pain with no neurological symptoms
- Painful chronic osteoporotic vertebral fractures showing non-union on the STIR sequence of MR imaging
Contraindications:
- Coagulation disorders
- Unstable fractures
- Complete vertebral collapse ( Vertebra Plana )
