GUIDELINES: CERVICAL DISC ARTHROPLASTY:
Indications:
Degenerative disc disease ( herniated disc or spondylosis ) causing neurological compression, radiculopathy or myelopathy, on one or two levels from C3 to T1 after failed conservative therapy or progressive neurological deficit.
Contraindications:
- Spinal instability.
- Severe facet arthropathy.
- Osteoporosis.
- Infection.
- Posterior surgery on same level.
- Ossification of PLL.
- Rheumatoid arthritis.
- Ankylosing spondylitis.
- Primary axial Pain
- Diffuse idiopathic Hyperostosis
